8th Grade Formal
Last night was the 8th Grade Formal! It was FANTASTIC! Everyone looked great. The people that decorated the cafeteria did an excellent job. I was actually expecting it to be kinda cheesy, but it really wasn't. I hung out with my basties the whole time. We danced, talked, and just had the best time ever. It was a bit awkward when the slow songs came on though, because Megan, Katherine and I were like the only people who weren't slow dancing with a guy. I didn't care though, all I need is mah buds :) Seeing some of the couples there was ADORABLE. Megan, Katherine, and I danced together anyways, and it was great. We took LOTS of pictures that I'll be sure to upload sometime soon. Megan and I asked the DJ to play Blackout, and everyone knew it was us because we sing that song so often! Katherine taught me how to dance a little more and better than I used to, haha. Thanks Katherine! After the dance, my music teacher invited me to go to Sweetfrog with her, Maggie, Olivia, and Cidalia. While we were there we ran into Gillian. It was a crazy spectacular night. I hope to have one like it again sometime.
Last Week
I had absolutely no time to post last week, so I'm just gonna try to sum up all of the wonderous happenings in one post. The Thursday before last, I forgot to mention that I helped Olivia and Cici find a dress for formal! They were gorgeous. When Cici wanted to go into Hollister, me and Olivia acted like we were dying the entire time we were in there. That weekend I went over to my bestie, Megan's house to have a sleepover. We had so much fun, and we got in some time to work on our performance for the talent show. I also went kayaking again at some point. Last week was extremely eventful for me! Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I rode the bus to Courtland after school for mini band camp. The first day wasn't so great, but the other two were! I really love those people. Everyone was really helpful and supportive of each other. Now I know I am most DEFINITELY doing marching band in highschool. Can't wait! Friday was supposed to be field day, but there were chances of storms, so talent show day and field day got switched. I was freaking out when I found out Thurday afternoon, because I wasn't prepared at all to sing in front of a crowd. It was on my bucket list however, so no backing out for me! I found a nice dress and some jewelry that night to wear the next day and I bought the instrumental version of Payphone by Maroon 5 on iTunes. The next morning Megan and I showed up in our dresses in the auditorium. We were third to perform. When we got on stage, my hands got a little shaky. When I'm nervous and I'm trying to hide it or appear confident, it all goes to my hands for whatever reason. Anyway, no one told us when they were starting the music so we didn't have the greatest start in the world. That was okay though, because throughout the rest of the song we had very little, if not noticable at all, errors. Megan and I made the song our own by adding various harmonies and parts to the song. I was shocked when we finished because we got an unbelievable amount of cheers and smiles. Everyone was complimenting us all day about our performance. You guys really boosted my self esteem that day, I'd just like to thank you all for that! I have the most supportive friends anyone could wish for. I'd also like to thank my bestie that sang with me, you were UHMAYZUHNN GURRRLLL!!! Everyone that participated in the show on Friday was great! I luff all of you :) Amazing week, right?

Uhmayzuhnn Thursday
This was like..the best Thursday of the school year. It felt so much like a Friday!!! Today was the last day we dress out in PE. SO HAPPY. In math all we did was make tessalations. It's a bit challenging trying to make a shape, but after I figured out how to make a dove everything was eeeeaaaasssyyyy. After that was band, which is always a load of fun. We literally did nothing in there, with the exception of getting our instruments out to play for a couple minutes. I also got my Solo and Ensemble medals. Science was the best. We competed to see who could build the tallest marshmallow tower. Megan and I were partners. We didn't win, but we had the coolest and the best-built tower! At first it looked like the Empire State building, but we took the top sticks off and for fun twisted it to mak it look like DNA. Our tower was the most popular. WOOTWOOT. I luff mushmallowz.

Ello, Mr. Snakey
I was in my basement messing with that slide show I just put up, and all of a sudden my mom comes running down stairs freaking out. "YOUR DAD IS OUTSIDE PLAYING WITH A SNAKE." Ummm......well now, that's different. Went upstairs, opened the front door, and there I see him in the middle of the yard next to his lawnmower with a stick in his hand, snake hanging from the end of it. I was a bit confused, but at the same time concerned. I'm definitely not wearing flipflops out in the yard anymore....*shivers*. Apparently when my dad was mowing the lawn, some birds swooped down and started to peck the snake, so my dad saved him. Well we wanted to know what the thing was and whether he was poisonous or not, so we did our research for about an hour, and I found out he was a Northern Brown Snake. Completely harmless and not aggressive. We put him in a box so he could move around and so we could look at him a little longer. My mom HATED him with a passion. Even if it's adorable and harmless like the one we found, she doesn't care. "The only good snake is a dead one," she says CONSTANTLY. I petted him and he was extremely smooth. My brother tried to feed him a worm, but he wasn't hungry. Not too long ago we decided he needed to go back to freedom, so we took him outside and released him into the forest. Cute little fellow, isn't he?
New Slideshow
Remember when Slide failed and took off my slideshow? Well, yeah, it did, and I didn't have a slideshow at the top of my page anymore. I replaced the blank boring space with nyan cat, but I found a new slideshow website I can use! There's a website called Picasa where I can upload photos and put it in a slideshow on here. You'll find it if you scroll to the end of my posts on this page. Until I figure out how useful it is and whether or not you people will like it, it will stay down there. If I get some good feedback about it, I'll move it up above all of my posts where it used to be.
Kayaking Trip
Sunday. the day after we bought them, we went kayaking. We asked one of my mom's friends if we could go to her house to use them, and fortunately she said yes! We ended up going to Lake Anna, a really beautiful lake somewhat close by. My dad put both of the kayaks on top of the car, and I was overjoyed. I wasn't nervous like everyone else because I've been canoeing before. It's sort of alike. When we got there, I put on my Intimidator 305 hat, some sunscreen, and claimed a boat first. We only bought two kayaks for a family of four, so we all took turns going out into the lake. It was easier than I thought to get in. I was expecting it to be super uncomfortable, but it felt just fine! Paddling was really easy too. The rest of my family had to get the hang of it to be able to steer themselves properly, but I was pretty good from the start. Kayaking can be hardcore, or pretty relaxing. I raced all of my family members to the shore a few times, and I won each time. It was also really nice to just sit in the middle of the lake a chill. The waves and the view was really relaxing. I hope to go back really soon, because I think kayaking might be one of my new favorite things to do.
Unexpected Purchase
So this weeked, we bought something I never would've thought we'd get. On Saturday, my family and I went to Outback for dinner. GREAT PLACE TO EAT, juss sayin'. Anyways, afterwards for no apparent reason, my Dad wanted to go to Gander Mountain., so we did. If you don't know for some odd reason, it's a big sports store. We found out he actually wanted to go so he could buy himself and expensive gun, but that's not what we ended up getting. We stayed in the store looking around for an unbearable amount of time (I hate sports, sports stores, etc(except baseball)) and we ended up leaving with two kayaks. PURE AMAZINGNESS.....and totally unexpected.

I have a challenge for you guys! Megan and I got through an HOUR STRAIGHT of this, how long can you last? You aren't allowed to stop watching, even for a fraction of a second. If you have to go to the bathroom, take your iPhone with you. If all fails, just turn the volume up loud enough so you can hear it. Comment on the Nyan Cat post and tell me how long you lasted!
